Old Boys Network at the Old Bank of England

In Guy Richie’s movie “Rocknrolla” as Archie sits in the back of his boss’ Bentley, he tells him he should “watch it with these new kids. It ain’t the old school anymore”.

Lenny turns and tells him “there is no school like the old school.”

Well, another LISA meetup at the Old Bank of England tells another story. As some 20 or so alumni and a handful of current students met for drinks, a careers presentation for current students with a big four consultancy was arranged by two alumni. Another budding idea for a startup was discussed between two alumni and a current student that was later pitched to investors.

Also featuring in the event was the LISA social committee traditional networking exercise that got the attendees interacting with almost every other person at the event to cross introduce people as part of an ice breaking activity.

The event also promoted the Seminar on Cloud Computing on March 18th by Dr. Will Venters.

See you at the next meetup, hopefully in the garden!!
