Mid-Level and Senior Business Analyst Position – Markit
Markit, a leading Financial Technology Services company based in the City of London has 1-2 open positions for mid-level and senior business analyst for the Trading Processing Division. Candidates should ideally have a background in either Software Development or Technical Analysis, with exposure to financial services, ideally OTC Derivatives (Interest Rate, Equities or Credit Derivatives) Clearing or Trading of Futures , options or Cash Equities. Experience with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) for any major trading or middleware software is highly desirable, knowledge of industry standards such as FIX, FpML or other major messaging standards is key, and project management experience is a big advantage. Candidates would ideally have 5+ years of experience.

Duties & Accountabilities
The role requires the candidate to have excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organisational / coordination skills, and strong analysis skills. The successful candidate will be process oriented and have a thorough understanding of product development lifecycle. The candidate should have prior experience delivering large system projects and system changes (BAU) and should have exposure to multiple software development delivery methodologies. The candidate should be comfortable in a fast paced environment and be flexible to adapt to changes. The candidate will work closely with other senior Business Analysts and Product Designers in the Trade Processing business to deliver project change. The candidate will be expected to work closely with the Delivery and Business Development teams, to deliver projects and system changes. The candidate will be expected to work with teams in Singapore, Tokyo, Gurgaon and London.
Education and experience
Post graduate – Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree preferred. Solid and reputable professional experience as a Busines Analyst Prior Financial Services IT experience would be beneficial Strong working knowledge of requirements elicitation, structured analysis, stakeholder management, use case definition and other Business Analysis techniques Understanding of XML/DTD and FpmL would be beneficial Prior experience with the MarkitWire platform would be strongly desirable. Interest rates derivatives knowledge would be strongly desirable.
Experience in the financial markets An understanding of financial derivatives terms and principals is required for the role.

They are looking for high caliber candidates with a proven track record in data management and integration as they are building a new team. Experience in Data Modeling and Architecture, Enterprise Intelligence and Programme Delivery of large scale integration projects are key skills they are looking for.
